Planning for Post- Secondary Success: School and Community Resources

Come and hear about how education teams, including parents, plan for students beginning in 9th grade for each student’s

plan for post-secondary success. Presentation will include descriptions of secondary transition assessments, 4-year

plans, post-secondary program options and community resources.

Several students will share their post-secondary planning experiences

We have been learning about how to express our opinions in an appropriate way.  This discussion has focused on making decisions based on our own preferences.  The lessons have also focused on how to express opinions while respecting the opinions of others.  

We have also discussed trusting and respecting the opinions and personal preferences of others - especially those we are in class with and are our friends.

This is your last chance to order a copy of the 2013-2014 Highview Yearbook!  The final day for ordering is this Friday, January 17th.   You may order several ways:

• Online at www.balfour.com using a credit card or debit card
• Pay by using a check or money order and a paper order form.  Order forms are available in the school office or can be printed from the Highview website. 

Orders must be placed either online or turned in to the school office by Friday. January 17th.  If you would like a yearbook, but can't afford one.  Please contact your child's dean.

Happy Holidays!  This week we have been discussing perspective taking and leadership skills! 

WOW!  We have had a really busy couple of weeks.  We have learned and practiced so many great skills in class!  We have focused on "Friendships" and "Reading Between the Lines (or making inferences)".  This week we are discussing being respectful of others.  

On Monday and Wednesday we continued our discussion about working together and cooperative learning!  We also wrote and illustrated our 2nd chapter to our cooperative story.  On Tuesday, we discussed personal space.  On Thursday, we worked on missing assignments and made plans for the end of the quarter (next week!).   On Friday we played cooperative games and worked on missing assignments!
